Georgie is 32 years old and has been shooting for nearly
5 years, shooting competitively for 4 years. Her enthusiasm
and passion for this sport is unsurpassed by anything else
she has ever done. After having made the GB & England
team for Sporting & Fitasc and achieving No.2 Status
in the World, she now has the ambition and determination
to turn her dream of reaching the 2008 Beijing Olympics
into reality, exceeding expectations, hopefully offering
a return on investment for her sponsor.
Georgie has been shooting Olympic Trap (OT) for nearly
5 months now and it has taken a while to get used to the
completely different discipline. It takes so much more
concentration, focus, preparation & determination.
It is a hard, but instinctive & precise discipline
which she is really enjoying. As the teams have already
been selected
for 2006, when she was not shooting the discipline, she
believes that she has a very good chance of making the
GB Team by the end of 2006. This is due to the process
of the GB Team Selection. On making the GB Team at the
end of 2006, this will take Georgie to the 2007 World Cups,
where she gains the opportunity to win a QUOTA PLACE for
the 2008 Olympics. Quota Places can only be WON at
the World Cup Events, and to do so, she has to win a World
Cup. She is looking forward to starting the OT competitions
for 2006, with the 'hunger' and determination to win,
she will not stop until she has achieved her main goal
- Olympics.
Sport has always taken top priority in Georgie's
family. She is the youngest of six kids with
all of them having played tennis to County & National
Levels. She first picked up a racket at the age of
4, and always follows Wimbledon & the Olympics without
fail. Georgie has always had the dream to go to the Olympics
and this perfect opportunity has arisen, which is not 'out
of arms reach'. Please excuse the 'pun'
- but, Georgie will give this opportunity her best shot
and get to 2008 Beijing Olympics.
